"Taking its name from the TV show The Wonder Years, the Philadelphia punk pop band was formed by guitarists Matt Brasch and Casey Cavaliere, vocalist Dan "Soupy" Campbell, bassist Josh Martin, drummer Mike Kennedy, and keyboardist Mikey Kelly. The sextet got its start in 2005 when previous combo the Premier split up. Regrouping under the new name, the band began playing shows and released two split singles that year (with Bangarang! and Emergency and I). In late 2007 the Wonder Years self-released an album, the emphatically titled Get Stoked on It!, and quickly caught the eye of California label No Sleep, which signed the band. Their first record for the label was the EP Won't Be Pathetic Forever, which came out in June of 2008. Following a split single with All or Nothing, Kelly left the band. After a year spent recording its second album, the group released The Upsides in January of 2010. The record made a dent in the lower regions of the Billboard charts and also gained the Wonder Years a deal with the larger indie Hopeless, which reissued the album in September with four bonus tracks. In the time between releases, drummer Kennedy quit the band and was replaced by Nick Steinborn. Los Angeles-based indie rock band The Wrecks root from Thousand Oaks, CA. The group consists of Nick Anderson (vocals/guitar), Nick Schmidt (lead guitar), Westen Weiss (guitar), Aaron Kelley (bass), and Billy Nally (drums). Heavily influenced by groups such as The Pixies, The Strokes, Weezer, and Vampire Weekend, this 5-piece isn't afraid to blend undeniably catchy choruses, with self-deprecative, honest lyrics and vocals that pull you right to the center of each song.

The band actually recorded their debut EP on a whim, alongside friend and engineer Andrew D’Angelo, when they were surprised with the news that a friend had been granted access to a studio for just a few days. With a total budget of $0, and only a week as a band under their belts, the group set out to record the best songs that they could in 3 days. After working ridiculous hours through the night, and to the next day whenever they could get in the studio, the 3 days were over and the EP was cut. Little did the band know, they were not even allowed to be in the studio that week. So through feelings of guilt and worry, they cleaned every bit of information of theirs from the studio computer, every crumb of Dominoes from the studio couch, and they were off with their entire EP on an hard drive in a backpack.

The homemade "We Are The Wrecks" EP was self-released in March 2016. After hundreds of spins on Sirius XM's Alt Nation, and features on some of Spotify's biggest rock playlists, the band signed to Another Century/Sony Music in December of 2016. Their debut single Favorite Liar broke the Top 40 on alternative radio, has over 6 million plays on Spotify, and spent almost a dozen weeks in the top 10 of Alt Nation's Alt-18 Countdown. After signing their record deal, The Wrecks sought out to record a new EP in Los Angeles. 3 weeks into recording, and after blowing almost the entire budget, the band decided the music was going in the wrong direction and threw the EP away. "I just felt that we had strayed too far from the core of the band's sound," says frontman Nick Anderson. "It sounded like we were trying really hard to get on the radio or something, and I feel like that rarely gets you on the radio anyway." So after getting their label and management on board, The Wrecks decided to move into Anderson's grandmother's house in his small hometown (Wellsville, NY) to work on the new record in a barn studio that their friend Patrick Barry owns. Co-produced again by Nick Anderson and Andrew D'Angelo, The Wrecks say their new upcoming EP "comes from a genuine place, and is something we're all truly proud of."

Men I Trust is an indie-dance band from Quebec City (Canada).

Bio:
Jessy and Dragos knew each other since their fourth year of high school. Back then (mid-2000’s), Dragos had somewhat of a background in classical piano and Jessy mastered the dark and esoteric art of the metal guitar solist.

In 2012, while finishing his master’s degree in audio postproduction at Laval University with S. Lacasse, S. Stévance and S. Samson, Dragos spent most of his days and sleeping hours at the “LARC” studio working on his solo projects. He randomly met Jessy again, who was finishing his bachelor degree in Jazz guitar, in one of the faculty’s hallways and talked about doing a French-Touch / Italo-Disco track together. Some weeks later, they did just that. And it worked out so well that they decided to extend their collaboration to a whole project where many singers would be involved.

Between 2012 and 2016, all of Jessy’s and Dragos’ (now pursuing a PhD) releases were made as part of Dragos’ masters and PhD studies in order to gain access to the LARC’s infrastructure and to develop a unique sound by mixing and mastering at the same time, achieving loud, large and high quality renders.

In 2013, Jessy and Dragos were introduced to Odile by a mutual friend. Odile was then completing her bachelor degree as a classical singer. Her voice struck Jessy and Dragos, already both hardcore classical music fans, by its clarity and power. Odile had no clue what we were about to do, when she came at the studio to record the “Introit”, their first baroque essay. She came up with the melody of the voice on the spot and the song became one of Men I Trust’s highlights.

After the release of their first album “Men I Trust” (2014), the group had a rapid local success in Quebec and made it on several radio, web and paper charts.

Emma was a fortuitous encounter. In 2015 a mutual friend presented her to Dragos through a video posted over the Internet. She was casually singing and playing the guitar around a campfire with some of her friends. Emma’s voice was on the opposite spectrum of that of Odile, being less clear, more grainy and fragile with a mysterious twist that caught their attention. They reached her and tried recording one song called “Out in myself”, which turned to be one of the band’s easiest to record in Dragos’s small Montreal apartment.

The band then invited her to join them on live shows at the beginning of 2015. The girls’ voices blended wonderfully together and the band got lots of positive feedback from the experience. Emma has been part of us since then.

With their second album “Headroom” (2015), Men I Trust truly became a quartet. This time, the band’s music echoed outside of Quebec, with many appearances on Hype Machine and several others on Spotify and SoundCloud playlists. In the spring of 2016, the band released their single and first music video for “Humming man”. It was followed in June by “Lauren“ and “Plain View" in December.

In 2016, the band was in concert at the Canadian Music Week (Toronto), the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, the Festival d’été de Québec, M for Montreal, Pop Montreal, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing.

FRANCES CONE is a Brooklyn-based indie-pop band fronted by Christina Cone (keyboards/vocals) with Jeff Malinowski (guitar/vocals) and Andrew Doherty (bass/vocals). Their lush three-part harmonies and intimate understanding of each other as players and people belie the fact that they all just met within the past year in the borough in which they live and perform. The band has already landed on year-end "Best Of" lists from the likes of Daytrotter and Vanity Fair and performed at marquee New York venues such as Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg. At once their sound is both enormous and intimate, huge yet familiar. Frances Cone is currently on tour in support of their new self-titled EP due early spring 2014.

In August of 2014, Zoë Allaire Reynolds put out a 5-song EP under the moniker Kississippi, and later that month, Colin James Kupson moved to Philadelphia to attend The University of the Arts (for Music Technology). The two began collaborating on music together after meeting on Tinder(!) They honed their output, and went in to the Drexel studios in January 2015 with Jake Ewald. The record, named after a friend whom scrawled "we have no future, we're all doomed" across a class picture of Zoë and themselves, is a 6-song exploration into what the duo were capable of. What comes of the creative foray is a magnetic, multi-faceted output that sees the marriage of the two's musical backgrounds; featuring Beach House-like synth harmonies, syncopated beat manipulation, and Drop C basslines. After playing many months of shows as a 2-piece, they decided to approach friends to help flesh the performances out, creating a weighted and significant live show, which exemplarily demonstrate the duo's goal to create "amp worshipping pop/popviolence," or an amalgamation of heavy energy and theatrics with pop hooks and dreamy haze.
